Driving to Sonoita can be quite a memorable experience.  The Sonoita/Elgin area is one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Arizona.  The rolling grassland hills, scattered with mesquite, oak and cottonwood trees atop a desert plateau, provides breathtaking contrasts to the desert landscape of Tucson and the Sonoran Desert.   You'll find the designated 'Scenic' drive on Highway 83 south of I-10 to be relaxing and eye-catching.  Sonoita is a very popular location for bicyclists, motorcyclists and leisure drivers needing a weekend get away.  We have numerous Bed & Breakfasts if you wish to spend a day or two.  Come to Sonoita and take part in the Empire Mountain culture and enjoy our wines.  You'll love it and you'll come back!!

Driving from Tucson:

    Take Exit 281 South (Hwy 83) to Sonoita.  Continue south through the stop sign and past the Fairgrounds.  Hwy 83 then curves east.  Continue for about four miles and then straight onto Lower Elgin Road.  Proceed east on Lower Elgin Road for 2.1 miles and then turn left onto Mountain Ranch Drive.

Driving from Sierra Vista:

    Proceed west on Hwy 82 (from Mustang Corners) until Sonoita.  Turn left and proceed south (then curves east) on Hwy 83 and then onto Lower Elgin Road (about 4.0 miles).  Proceed east on Lower Elgin Road for 2.1 miles and then turn Left on Mountain Ranch Drive.
